FEAM is one of only 14 part 145 repair stations across the U.S. implementing a Safety Management System (SMS). A validation meeting was held on November 19, 2013 with the FAA SMS Program Office Implementation Support Team (IST) and Certificate Management Team (CMT). During this meeting the FAA conducted a review of FEAM’s Detailed Gap Analysis, SMS Implementation Plan and Level 1 Exit requirements. FEAM exited Level 1 as all requirements found on the FAA Exit Level 1 Checklist had been satisfactorily accomplished. FEAM is now providing service to China’s Hainan Airlines, as well as Korean Air, at Chicago (ORD)! Hainan Airlines operates the new B787 aircraft into ORD. For Korean Air, this service at ORD is a sign of FEAM’s growing relationship with that airline, as they also provide service for them at MIA and DFW. FEAM look’s forward to the continued growth at ORD!
